Boga Lake (1800 feet above sea the level, 10 acres in size) is surrounded by hills. The water is crystal clear, clean and transparent, so perfect for swimming. Sometimes it changes its color. The tribal village beside the lake is called Boga lake Para (village) inhabited by Bom people (or Bawm tribe, also Bawn, Bawng). Currently about 22 families live in the village. The Bawms of the Chittagong Hill Tracts call their settlements “Bawmram ” which means a Bawm inhabited area or region. Bowm tribe settlements can be also found in Mizoram, Chhimtuipui, Lunglei, and Aizawl districts; Tripura; Assam in India and in Myanmar. The Bowm in Chittagong Hill tracts are one of smallest ethnic groups in Bangladesh with a population of only 6978 according to the 1991 census.
